OUR SPONSORS & SUPPORTERS
For the sixth year, the principal sponsor of the 173rd
Australia Day Regatta, the world’s oldest continuous annual sailing
regatta, is the nation’s great financial institution, the
Commonwealth Bank of Australia, through its Commonwealth Private Bank.
The Bank, as an Australian institution, shares the heritage and values
of diversity, achievement and enduring spirit of mateship and fairness
that characterise the Australia Day Regatta.
The Australian Defence Forces have also been long-time supporters of the
Australia Day Regatta, especially the Royal Australian Navy in providing
a Flagship, but also the Royal Australian Air Force with its spectacular
flyovers by fighter aircraft and the Royal Australian Army for its Red
Beret parachutists and Artillery salute.
The City of Sydney, the Australia Day Council and the Sydney Ports
Corporation have continued their support for the 2009 Australia Day
Regatta. We also thank Billich Gallery in providing a striking
painting by Charles Billich for the covers of the past eight Australia
Day Regatta Programs.
Generous support for the 2008 program also came from Winning Appliances,
Rintoul of the AW Edwards Group, Macdiamid Sails, Treharne Moornings,
Hardy Wines, the Manly Boatshed, the Catalina Anchorage and Coursemaster
Autopilots, with the Commonwealth Private Bank providing considerable
support in the printing.
Four members of the Advisory Council and the Management Committee have
generously contributed to the production of Red Ensigns (Australia’s
National Maritime flag) to be flown by competitors in the Regatta.
